ABOUT THE ARTIST...SHERI COOK

I LOVE HORSES.  I LOVE TO DRAW, PAINT, AND PHOTOGRAPH HORSES!

Hello, my name is Sheri Cook, a talented self-taught artist and I create my own unique collectible style of equine art. My preferred style is realistic and from the heart.  Not only does my art delight the horse lover’s eye, it also arouses the feelings and the fondness that urges one to reflect upon their own love of the horse. I portray my genre with a genuine love and emotional devotion to my subject...THE HORSE!

Like most horse crazy little girls, I have drew horses since early childhood. Of course, I never outgrew the fascination and happy for it.  I am a professional artist and I am published in Horse Illustrated, Bird Talk and Young Rider.
I have had the honor of studying under Marilyn Todd-Daniels twice in the Equine Art Workshops she offers at Woodsong Institute in Whitewright, Texas.
Throughout the journey and development of my short career, I like to express my creations with the use of various mediums; from pencil to ink, color pencils, water color pencils, acrylics and oils.
As of 2010 I am experimenting with Digital Art using Corel Painter.

I combine soft colors, soft tones and hues to create my art of the horse.  I am drawn to my subjects because of their God given shape, form, beauty and spirit. As I create my personal works of equine art, I attempt to devote attention to my favorite parts of that horse. It could be the curve of the neck, the bend of an ear, powerful legs, or a flashy mane and tail. I am especially fond of the eyes and muzzle. I want what ever delights my eye in that particular horse to catch the viewer's eye as well.

Currently, I enjoy expression in the form of A.C.E.O. art cards. These little illustrative works of art make it affordable for all to collect my creations.  I use mixed mediums of pen and ink with prisma professional markers and color pencils which result in colorful collectible art cards. These bold and colorful little cards are new and exciting for me. I really do enjoy making each one!

My skill in execution and love of my subject produces honest and cherished creations of equine artwork.
